The maximum COP rating of our Arctic heat pump is 9.7, but the average customer would expect to operate their system at an average of 3 COP. This means that on average our heat pump systems will save 66% on home heating bill vs. conventional electric heating. To compare this to the gas prices in your area, you must find out your average $/KWH for both gas and electricity (keeping in mind gas is not 100% efficient). Once you have both figured out, you will divide cost for electricity by 3 and with that figure you will be able to compare heat pump operation costs vs. gas.
