While in theory there is no limit to how far you can place heat pump away from house, we recommend installing our Arctic heat pumps as close to home as possible in order to make piping run from Eco Ultra storage tank to Arctic Heat pump as short as possible. The minimum distance you would want your Arctic unit from outside wall of house is 1’.
If you need to place your heat pump more than 75' away from the buffer tank you will need to increase the lines to 1 1/4". Longer distances may result in significant heat loss and should only be considered in moderate climates.
